Attorney Emily Brooks is an experienced immigration attorney who has successfully helped hundreds of immigrants secure lawful status in the United States through family visa petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, asylum, U visas and VAWA. She approaches each case with compassion, creativity, and attention to detail so that each client gets zealous representation when navigating the complex US immigration system.
EDUCATION
Emily received bachelor’s degrees in Political Science, Spanish, and Latin American Studies from the University of Kansas, then went on to earn a law degree from American University’s Washington College of Law in DC. She worked on a variety of complex cases with the Immigration Law Clinic, volunteered with the Immigrant Rights Coalition, and interned at an organization that provides legal orientation & deportation defense to detained immigrants.
BACKGROUND
Emily was taught from a young age to honor her family’s immigrant roots and explore other cultures. Her first trip abroad was spent digging through archives with her grandmother and meeting distant relatives in Sweden. Since then, she has lived & studied in Spain & Costa Rica, and visited much of Europe plus Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, and Morocco.
